We added to our family today by buying a gorgeous purebred Border Collie. My eldest son named him Zak.
We took Zak home and gave him a bath and the boys then played with him outside in the back yard. They were so well behaved. Quinton took over as the parental figure and made sure that the younger two boys looked after Zak. It was very cute. But most importantly, I got an afternoon sleep for the first time in ages. The boys put a DVD on and set up their fold-out couches on the floor in front of the TV. Zak fell asleep on his mat near the boys. All the boys were so quiet because they didn't want to wake Zak. I just wish they thought this way about me in the morning!! But I did get my afternoon sleep. :-)
The boys woke up early this morning so even now at 9:30pm I am only just getting the younger two settled. Quinton went to bed early but Ishmael and Cameron have been fighting bed-time for two and a half hours now. But I tucked them in bed AGAIN and they are quiet so hopefully they are nodding off. Zak is asleep on the back verandah, which for a 6 week old pup is very good.
I know I should be going to bed but I am enjoying the peace and quiet too. The other thing is that I am not sure whether I should sleep in bed or on the couch as my room is at the front of the house and I would hate for Zak to start whimpering and annoy the neighbours while I sleep soundly at the front of the house and away from the noise. What to do?
